About Me

Hi, my name is Austin. (Yes, I am a girl) But don't feel bad if you weren't sure at first, I've dealt with that since I was a kid. Like in Fifth grade when I got in trouble with our substitute teacher because I switched seats with "Austin" to trick her. True story. There are many more, but I can't share all of my good stories in one post, right? I used to hate my name. I hated that everyone would say, "Your name is Austin? That's unique." But as I have gotten older (if you call 21 years old, older) I have learned to love the parts about myself that are different than everyone else. Not all of my different parts, like I still hate that I blink too much. But mostly I have learned to appreciate all of our differences. You should try it, it's kinda fun to be different than everyone else. Besides, that's how God wants it!

A few things you should know about me. I am married to the man of my dreams, his name is Matt (and I love talking about marriage!) I am from a small town in Washington called Enumclaw. Pronounced--(EE-num-claw). Not (You-num-claw), not (EE-noom-clou), Enumclaw. If you haven't heard of us, consider yourself lucky our only claim to fame (besides Kasey Kahne) has to do with livestock and a whole lot of TMI. We are now in Lynchburg, Virginia attending Liberty University! I am going to school for my Occupational Therapy degree. I have a serious passion for health, fitness, encouragement, and a better quality of life! Matt is going to school to be a nurse and if you ever get the privilege of meeting him, you will see his heart and his passion for helping people and making them smile and you will understand just why he wants to be a nurse. The most important thing to know about me is that I am madly in love with Jesus! I find life in Him and in nothing and nobody else. (See Amazing Grace tab).

My hobbies include exercise (sports, running, hiking, weights, corny work out videos, yoga, you name it!). Exercise and nutrition is probably my biggest hobby. I love to learn about what is making my body work exactly as well as God made it to work. I love to see improvement in fitness and strength. I'm that girl who you might see doing chair dips in Starbucks because I've been sitting still for too long. I love to blog and follow other people's blogs! My blog originally had no real reason. Now I can see that it helps me stay sane! It is such a great way to take a break from school, write out what is going on, share with everyone back home what is happening in my life, and it's just fun! I love to make things and do projects! I love to basically do anything outside. I love to cook and bake (but I hate dishes). I love to share time in fellowship with friends. I am one of those weird people who actually loves church.

I am a big time fan of gifts. Whether it is a letter, a compliment (yes I consider that a gift), a present, a coffee date (or just a coffee), a dinner date, whatever it is, if you are a friend of mine expect this from me and know how much I love it when you do something for me! I have a pretty serious servant heart. I'm not so much a stand in front of everyone and be the center of attention kind of girl. I will be the one standing backstage with a drink of water and a hug for whoever the center of attention person just was. I used to think that to be important or to make a difference I had to be different than how I am. I thought because I wasn't the most popular or loudest I wasn't going to impact anyone. I have learned in time that God has made us all different! He wants us to have different personalities. I am just here trying to make a difference and be who I am all at the same time! I try to be real and don't do a whole lot of sugar-coating of anything. Stick around and you will get to know me better. I love to hear from you. And if you have a blog you'd like to share, I'd love to meet your blog!

Until then,
xo/Austin.
