We're Getting Married!

Okay guys, can you tell I'm struggling keeping updated on here?
I figure I better fill you in on wedding plans.
Mainly cause I like to think about that.

I promised pictures from Mom and Kevin's wedding... But I kinda slacked and forgot to get them onto my computer before I headed out for school...
They're currently in (or on their way) to Mexico for their honeymoon, so they won't be sending any pictures any time soon... But here is a sneak peek.

Gorgeous right? How unfair is it that I have to compete with my own mom for who will look better in wedding pictures. Oh well, I guess that's the price you pay for having a pretty Mom. :]

Have I mentioned that my best friend is getting married this summer?
I think so. Have I mentioned that she's getting married the weekend after my "to-be sister/brother in law's" wedding? Oh yeah. It's about to be a busy summer.

I am so excited though, because I get to help plan Mimi's (we're gonna start calling her MOH--Matron of Honor-- cause I just think it's funny.) bachelorette party!

I've been thinking of all kind of great ideas for an inexpensive (because both of us clearly are not rolling in money these days) yet amazing bachelorette party! I'd share my current ideas, but she might see this and we just can't have that. If you have any great ideas or things that you've done, let me know! I'm all ears! And I would really appreciate input!

So for my wedding...
Here's the update.

We are currently deciding where to register.
Target? Macy's? What do you think?
What is the best place to register?
Input always appreciated!

We are also talking about who to have for our flower girl, ring bearer, ushers, officiant, etc.
And when we decide I really wanna do something special for them like I did for my bridesmaids.
Mostly because I think it would be really fun!

We think we know what song we will dance to.
We know who our DJ will be.

We know the idea we want for decorations.
And if you have anything you'd be willing to lend us or save some stuff that you might not think of saving for us, that would be awesome!

We're looking for:

Mason jars. Of any shape or size!

Mis-matched and different shapes of glass jars!

Twinkle, christmas, or bulb lights! We are going for a bunch of lights! As long as they're white and not LED!

Candles! Candle sticks, tea-lights, etc.

Obviously, chandeliers and bird cages.
 {but you knew that.}

Also looking for white jars!

Any old/antique/vintage looking things like this.
Useful things, like window frames, screens like this, vintage furniture.

There will be more.
But for now this is all we are thinking about.

Hope you aren't bored out of your mind with wedding plans.

Any suggestions are accepted and appreciated!

Love,
xo/Austin

Truths of an Adult.

I don't have a lot to say about what I am posting below...
Except for the fact that I am having a hard time finding any of them that don't apply to my life at all.

I found it hilarious.
Hope you agree.

My top 3 favorites:
{in no particular order}
First:
#5. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has no idea what to do with that. Usually I just wad it up and hide it somewhere ...

Second:
#26. So great to see our fellow man teaming up to fight such a noble cause.

Third:
#32. So so so true.

{I also have a special place in my heart for #30}

Let me know what you think.
And your favorites!

Pinteresting Tuesday!

Sorry about the bleak blogging.
It's been crazy getting all settled in here at school and I'm having a hard time finding time to update!
You know I can't miss Pinteresting Tuesday though right?

One:

So today was so nice out that I am just about ready for summer... Which means I need to do this. Just looks like yarn and string... I'll keep you updated.

Two:

How to get seeds of a pomegranate out without staining everything and popping them! (The Pinterest title wasn't quite so long... but that's mine) Go here and find out how!

Three:

I've kind of been wanting some colored jeans... What do you think of these? Or maybe another color? Thoughts?

Four:

I kind of hate heights. (In case you've never heard that). But this is so sweet and romantic and I just want it to be summer so we can do this!

Five:

1) I kind of am in love with the "Sexy and I Know It Song" by LMFAO. I think it's hilarious. 2) This dog is adorable, which makes want him. 3) The dog + the song= hilarious and adorable.

Happy Tuesday!
I'll try to keep up better this week.

Lots of Love,
xo/Austin

Postponed Pinterests.

A day (or two) late... and a dollar short.
Sorry friends! Tuesday was my birthday!
So no posting on that day for me!

How have your weeks been going?
Mine is good! But I can already tell this semester is going to be a tough one!

For my birthday my amazing roomies woke me up at 12:05am with a song, "Happy Birthday" banners, a "Happy Birthday" crown, and gifts!

It was the best way ever to wake up on my birthday!

Did you miss Pinteresting Tuesday?
Sorry about that, but Thursday should suffice right?
Here we go...

One:

This pin has two parts... 1) I have always secretly wanted to find a message in a bottle! When I was a kid my brother and I would go searching every time we were at a beach for hidden messages in bottles... Maybe from someone who was stranded on a dessert island? 2) I have been dying to go on vacation lately. I know what you're thinking... "you were just on vacation for a whole month!" I don't mean a break from school vacation. I mean a warm, lay on the beach, get a tan, and do absolutely nothing vacation. That kind.

Two:

I have an exercise equipment problem. I love shoes. I love everything exercise clothes. I really don't need new shoes... But if I did, these would be at the top of the list.

Three:

Currently loving the bright royal blue color that's become ever so popular. Also another thing I've also been really wanting is a new bag... This will do ;]

Four:

This is genius. Stuff a banana peel (with the banana still in it) with all kinds of yummy chocolate, peanutbutter, etc. And grill it on a campfire. Yes please.

Five:

This kid's face... cracks me up.

Also!!

Remember when I posted this? Well my amazing Aunt made me one for my birthday!! He looks almost exactly like this! Maybe even better. It's so cute and I was so excited! I already informed Matt that when we have our first kid we are forcing them to have a safari bedroom... And this can be his/her stuffed animal... After it's mine for awhile of course ;]

The week is almost over friends!
Keep holding on!

No Longer a Teenager.

Last post being 19!
Even crazier, last day being a teenager!

Tomorrow I turn 20 years old.
Which is not an exciting age at all in the grand scheme of things.
Unless you look at it like:

I've been alive for two decades.
Kids I used to babysit are now in high school.
Soon enough it won't be a good thing to be told: "You look so much older than you are!"
And people won't be able to say "You act so much older than you are."
I have lived for probably more than 1/5 of my life already!

Crazy! I'm actually turning into the adult ages.
I remember being 8 thinking "20 is so old!"
HA! No way, I'm just starting life!

On another note:
We are here at school again!
Sitting in my dorm room, again.
Drinking the inadequate coffee, again.
And it's actually been great!
Minus the fact that I nearly had to sell a kidney to buy textbooks...

I'm ready to get into a routine and get along with my degree!
Hope this semester flies by so I can get home and get married!
{Oh yeah that's another way you can tell I've grown in 20 years! I'm getting MARRIED!}

Happy last day of being a teenager to me!

The Real You: Traveler

I have found that the best way to find out who someone really is... is to travel with them

You have to agree!
How many people have you said "Oh I could never go on vacation with them!" about?

I think it is extremely important to find someone you know you could travel well with.

Here are the ways you see people for who they really are while traveling and how to find the perfect traveling partner.

One:

I don't know about you guys, but when I am hungry I am not a pleasant person.
If I need food... You better get it to me ASAP unless you wanna see my bad side!
Matt is the same way. We have both definitely seen each other's bad sides when in need of calories!
How to avoid: always pack a snack! And know when to leave them/me alone!

Two:

You can see what kind of a packer they are.
I am a heavy packer... No, I just lied.
I am an EXTREME packer.
I have this irrational fear that I will forget to pack something that I might need... So to avoid that I bring 2-3 bags for any given trip.
One time, I went to Cali for a week and brought 2 suit cases and both were over the weight limit, so we had to pay the fee. It is terrible and causes extreme anxiety in my life.
Advice: marry someone who will compensate with room (and more weight) in their bag... I am already on my way to marrying that guy. When I asked Matt if he had room in his bag for some of my stuff he said "Of course, always." Ladies, find a guy like this!

Three:

You see them sleep deprived, uncomfortable, and possibly irritated.
No one is pleasant in this condition.
The trick is finding someone who will not flip their lid and embarrass you.
Or get mad at you for being nearby at their moment of misery.
Matt's the best because he just sleeps or laughs because you have to be honest, sometimes the conditions are so horrible that it's comical.

Four:

You get to see if their vacation time is spent how you would spend it.
Matt and I (and our families) are "eaters" on vacation.
We like to eat our way around on our trip.
Some people are big time scheduled planners.
Not me.
Usually I like my schedule, but on vacation it's time to take a rest and go with the flow.
Warning: Do not vacation with one of the opposite (planner/not planner) because both of your trips will be miserable trying to enjoy yourself in your different ways! Or a great compromise is if you are fine doing things separate!

Five:

You literally see the good the bad and the ugly in your travel companion.
If you look good coming off of a 7 hour flight, we can't be friends.
I don't know a whole lot of people who have that luxury of being beautiful after that.
I know for sure that I am not one of those people.
It is important to know if you're going to have a hard time looking at this person if stuck on a long flight/car ride.
Even more important; to know whether or not you can stand their breath after such a trip.

These are some things I have found about traveling.
If you can successfully find a traveling companion who passes each criteria, congrats!
That's a hard thing to do!

Now we are soon to be off on our journey across the country!
Looking forward to the heavy luggage, smelly breath, greasy hair, snack breaks, and achy backs!

Lynchburg here we come!

Bon Voyage,
xo/Austin

Pinterested?

Happy Tuesday!
Last one here at home for me.
Then back to school.

What was Pinteresting to you this week?

One:

I absolutely love journals.
Especially when they are exciting like this one.
I really wanna work on making my journal more exciting like this!

Two:

Just watched The Biggest Loser for the first time last week.
I'm officially completely obsessed.
I watched the entire last season in like 4 days.
It's inspiring to me!

Three:

I tried this for the first time last night.
And it's so good!
Like almost as good as ice cream good.
Try it.

Four:

Oh man I love this quote. Confidence is such a hard thing to understand and a hard thing to find for yourself I think. But this is a great definition of the difference between confidence and cockiness. And I am a pretty big fan of Mila Kunis.

Five:

This is the sole reason I don't get Victoria's Secret coupons sent to me. Because I am too humiliated to give them my "FaStPiTcHfReAk71" email. Don't act like you've never had a moment like this!

I hope your week is starting out well!
Let me know what is new with you!

Ciao,
xo/Austin

Thank You.

This has really been grabbing my attention lately.
What if this was true?
Would you have everything you wish you had?
Would you have anything?

I am really working on being thankful.
It is so easy to take everything we have for granted.
Everything we feel we "deserve."
Or the things we think are ours.

The truth is we don't have anything on our own.
Be thankful for what you have right now.
Be thankful for where you are right now.
And express your thanksgiving.

Of course you need to thank God.
But also, thank the people in your life.
Thank your friends.
And your family.
Even strangers.

It's time we humble ourselves and thank God and thank others for what we have.

Thank you,
xo/Austin

Weddings, Weddings, Weddings.

Finally time for a good wedding update.

It's been a crazy trip back home.

Mom got married!
Last weekend her and Kevin got married!
It was a really great wedding!

Currently I don't have any pictures...
But as soon as I get some I will for sure share!

This last week we took some more engagement pictures!
Yes, again.

Our wedding photographer, Sarah wanted to get some engagement pictures as a part of the wedding package while we're home!
We went with Kylie and Ryan (Matt's sister and her fiancé).
We had a blast!
We don't get them until next week (hopefully) but these are a few previews!

Today I am going wedding dress shopping!!
We're going to a preowned consignment shop in Seattle.
I am really hoping to find a good one.
Wish me luck!

Some loose ends of what else we are planning are in the making too!

For example, we decided we want the girls to wear cowboy boots at the wedding.

We also decided that we are going to do a yummy dessert bar instead of a sit down dinner.
(we're not exactly rolling in the money)

Another part that I am way too excited about, is my good friend Amy got me a birdcage for Christmas!
It's vintage, and white, and adorable.
I love it.

Finally, the last wedding excitement I have to share, is my best friend is engaged!!
She got engaged on Monday and they're planning a wedding for early June.
Which is convenient for me, because then I have a matron and a maid of honor!
I can't wait to have so many weddings this summer!
And celebrate with so many people I love!

So much wedding excitement in the making!
I just can't wait to marry my best friend.
I'll keep you up to date!

love,
xo/Austin

Isn't Life Pinteresting?

Pinteresting Tuesday! Only a day late.
One:

You may not know of my obsession with Pride and Prejudice... But this is just a little sneak peak. I love that movie.

Two:

I am kind of obsessed with this idea. You make a shadow box with a picture of what you are saving for.. and you use it as a piggy bank to save money toward that thing/place! Very much love this.

Three:

You make a key chain of the year you get married, the year your kids are born, and any other year you want to memorialize. How cute is this? Now I wonder how hard drilling a hole in a penny could be?

Four:

SO we know how much I love inspiration boards... And this is a WEDDING one. Meant for me to make.

Five:

If you don't laugh at this you're crazy. This is an awesome prank if you ask me. Only how long could this take to finish! Ha!

Have a Pinteresting Wednesday!

Happy Hump Day,
xo/Austin
