Arts and Crafts--Home Edition.

Oh spring break how you distract me.
Sorry lovelies, Spring Break has been a crazy one (if you could call it a break)!

Thursday last week Wendy and Ryan's mom (Jane) came into town! And we had such a great week!
Basically we were running around like crazy people all week.
We did get a ton done on the house though!
Which is way too exciting for me to even handle.

I cannot wait until I actually get to live there.
(But I am positive it will be worth the wait!)

I will get some pictures of what we did and post them by the end of the weekend, promise!
(Maybe I shouldn't say I promise... but I will try really really hard! deal?)

In light of the joy of homemaking, I want to share some of the projects I am absolutely dying to do for the house. Let me know what you think?

One:

Wall-sized calendar!
I think we could make this fit in our office...
Maybe no so big... But seriously how awesome is this?
Learn how here!

Two:

Window Shutter card holder!
Right up my alley.
Learn about it here!

Three:

Vintage Necklace as curtain tie.
What? That's not girly at all... right?

Four:

Mantle amazingness.
Yes we have a mantle and fireplace (which makes me really really really happy)
And I think any of these ideas are adorable.
Have a favorite?

Five:

Inspiration Board.
How many times have I shared these?
I think it's time I get one!
Matt might like it too?

Six:

Handmade Huston.
Would it be weird to make this now even though we aren't married?
Don't care, doing it :]

Seven:

Homemade File Cabinet:
Make it out of a chest.
Please please please.
Check it out here!

Eight:

White on white.
Matt and I are going for a strictly black and white and gray bedroom.
I think this would look so good in it!
The funny part is I could totally make this...
Instead of paying $328 for the one pictured.
Yikes!

These are just a few of the many artsy things I am dying to do!

Homemaking is going to be the best!
Look for a home update soon!

Happy St. Patricks Day!

miss you,
xo/Austin

What about the Wedding?

One final down, three to go!
Study break to update you all on the wedding!

Heading home in less than a week and then the wedding planning really begins!
Plan while we are home:

Hand out/send our Save-the-Dates!
Yes, we got them and they are adorable! I was so proud of us for designing them! Be on the look out for one in the mail... or if I see you! (Unless I don't know you, then you probably won't get one. Please don't take it personal.)

Wedding Dress Buying!
I can't believe I am actually going to buy a wedding dress while I am home. It just blows my mind. But I cannot wait to try on with my mom and some of my favorite girls!

Tux Trying On!
We are having such a hard time deciding the men's attire. We wanna do cowboy boots for the girls for the reception, and we ned to find a tux color to match... I just can't wait to see my gorgeous fiancé in a fancy wedding tux!

Bridesmaid Bonding Time!
I miss my girls back home so much! And I can't wait to shop and plan and make with them throughout the entire break.

More Engagement Pictures!
Our photographer for the wedding is going to take some more engagement photos while we are there! I have some ideas on how to have some fun taking pictures, it's just convincing Matt that it's a good idea...

My Mom's Wedding!
That's right! My momma is getting married on January 1! So we get to celebrate a wedding while we're home and have a blast! I am so excited to just have fun and support them!

I'm sure there is so much more to do while I am home, but these are on the top of the list!
Can't wait to be done with these tests and get home to start!

Hope y'all have a great weekend!
Home Stretch.
Keep it up,
xo/Austin

You Know You're from Washington When...

Alrighty so I should be doing more studying for my anatomy test tomorrow... but I needed a quick study break.

This was shared by a friend on Facebook.. but I'm not exactly a "repost this if..." kind of girl.
So to the blog it goes!

_____________________________________________________________________
You know you are from Washington State when:

You know how to pronounce Sequim, Puyallup, Sammamish, Enumclaw and Issaquah.
You consider swimming an indoor sport.
You see a person carrying an umbrella and know they must be a tourist.
Your lawn is mostly moss and you don't really care.
Honking your car is for absolute emergencies.
You're extremely picky about your coffee.
You rarely wash your car because it's just going to get washed by the rain tomorrow.
Northfaces are always in fashion.
You take a heavy coat and a hat with you for a day at the beach.
Half of your food is organic.
You are a full supporter of one of Seattle's sports teams, even though you know they aren't that good.
You play the "no you go" at four-way stops.
You can tell the difference between Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Korean and Thai food.
You know what a Dick's Deluxe is.
You won't go to Forks because of all the Twilight fans.
You will never forgive A-Rod.

____________________________________________________________________

It really isn't even funny how true this list rings for Matt and I as we are here in Virginia!

Everyone here honks their horns for everything!

And no one understands that a cappuccino is in fact not the sugary drink they offer at gas station automatic machines.

Also, you should see all the umbrellas that come out in the drizzle here, it would make you
laugh.

I hope you Washingtonians enjoy this.

Can't wait to be home and done with these tests!

Keep it real,
xo/Austin

Thanksgiving Break.

I know I have been slacking at updating my poor little blog.
You guys will never guess what went down this last week.

Wendy came into town!
{if you knew her, you would know I can just leave it at that and it's already crazy enough!}

Day two:
She was here, we got a car!

He's a boy. His name is Jensen.
He is 1993 Honda Civic and only has 50,000 miles on him!
Can I get a hallelujah for no more walking everywhere?
Best part is, now I can apply to jobs not right by campus!

Day four-six:
We went to Virginia Beach!
Oh man it was amazing!

I swear this is the best time of the year to go to the beach--there is no one there!
We had some wonderful food, took some awesome pictures, and we just enjoyed the hotel room!
Another thing Virginia Beach does during this time, is set up a huge light display on the boardwalk (which happened to be right outside our window!)

It was really just what I needed to get in the Christmas spirit!

Day six:
Matty turned 20!
It was probably not the best birthday since we spent half of it in a car driving back to Lynchburg...

Nonetheless, I am officially engaged to an older man :P

Day eight:
Wendy bought a house!
That's right! She bought a house here in Lynchburg.
The plan is, she is buying the house so she can rent it out to Matt and I and Kylie and Ryan (Matt's sister and fiancé) while we are here attending Liberty. When we leave (wherever we decide to go) she will be a landlord and rent it out to people around here and hopefully make money on the home!

Kylie and Ryan will live in the basement (which will be like a whole separate house) and Matt and I will live up stairs. I know, it sounds crazy... but us four get along so well that I don't think there will be a problem at all! I am so excited to get pictures and house updates for you guys! And then move in in August when we come back married for school!

Day eight was also Thanksgiving, which we spent with Matt's Aunt and Uncle and their kids! It was very relaxing and a nice change of a home cooked meal!

Day nine:
Black Friday.

We left at 11:45pm and shopped from Midnight until 5 am.
Wendy got me a new pair of boots for Christmas!
{just wait until you see them, I am in love}
Matt made me wait in line at Target for an hour and 15 minutes to buy an PlayStation 3 that was on sale!
Needless to say, by 5am we were all just about comatose.
I then slept until 2pm that day!

While I was sleeping, Matt and Wendy went out and found a nearly new love seat and gigantic chair for our living room for a whopping $30.

{yes I do love to brag about the money we save}

Day ten:
Wendy left for home.
And our lives go back to normal for the next 3 weeks while we finish up classes.
Only a few more classes then finals.

We can do it!

Keep it Classy,
xo/Austin

That's so Pinteresting.

Pinteresting Tuesday, on schedule!
Hey loves, how is your week starting off?
Mine is wonderful!

We start Thanksgiving break in less than a week..
Wendy comes in tomorrow...
And wedding dress trying on Friday as well!

Just a few more days left to push through!

So many Pinterests for me this week... How about you?

One:

So there are obviously many reasons I am PUMPED to get married. And for the most part I don't care much about presents. (I mean don't get me wrong, who doesn't love presents?) Anyway, the one gift I have assured Matt we have to ask for is a KitchenAid. They are amazing. And I have literally been waiting my whole life to get one. I have always said I would wait until I am married to get one, since it's too spendy for my pocketbook and it is the perfect gift. This one, is one of the many color combinations that I am loving. With the decals!

Two:

Confession time... I have a minor girl crush of Zooey Deschanel. I love her voice so much. And I love 500 Days of Summer (yeah, it's that depressing odd-ball movie that most of you probably didn't like). So I knew when I heard she had a new show coming out this fall that I would love it! She is such a goof and the show is of course hilarious! New Girl. Have you seen it?

Three:

So you know how no one ever likes to read when they have all the free time in the world to do so? Well I have recently got the strong desire to read. Noooooo I couldn't spend the last year of my life while I had no school and all the free time I wanted to to read, I would wait until I am slammed with school work and have no free time. But I did find this list on Pinterest of 1001 books to read before you die... And reading every Jane Austen book written is officially moving to my bucket list!

Four:

I have been on such a baking frenzy lately. All I want to do is bake, and make food for everyone to enjoy. Does this happen to everyone when they get engaged? Anyway, I have been wanting an apron (why? Because I'm a mess... and because they're cute) This is one definitely in the running!

Five:

Now I'm not one to call a kid homely... but this poor guy just has no chance... His parents have to hate him for giving him that haircut! ;] Not only is the kid hilarious, but then you see the alpaca(llama?) in the background... What is wrong with that thing?! I dare you not to laugh at this!!

On that note I'm out to make "stuffing" for hall Thanksgiving dinner.

{stuffing is in quotations because we have no stuffing mixture... so instead we are putting butter and garlic salt on wheat toast and calling it stuffing... shhh, they will never notice!}

What was Pinteresting to you this week?

Happy Tuesday,
xo/Austin

Are You Pinterested?

Pinteresting Tuesday week two!

Hope you are all proud of my update frequency! Keep on commenting, it is encouraging!

 One:

I have never been really passionate about getting a tattoo. Some are cool. but I've never thought "I need this on my body forever" This tattoo though is the first I've seen that has made me think... I could live with that for the rest of my life. I love the font and even the words. I would get mine on the side of my hand though. And probably a bible verse instead of "no fear." I'm still not set on one, but this definitely opened my mind to the possibility of a tattoo.

Two:

Once again I am stuck thinking about my future home with my future husband(!!!!). I love love love this wall paper. I love the dark color for the walls with the brighter colored furniture and accents. Is it too girly for a husband/wife room though...? What are your thoughts?

Three:

Since getting engaged I have been trying to keep my nails in tip top shape. (Which I've always failed miserably at in the past.) I absolutely LOVE the trend right now of matte nails! And this mixture of both looks so fun! Someone needs to get me Matte Magic... or better yet, I need a job so I can get it myself!
Four:

Ah, this makes me want to get married like now. Such a wonderful picture! Cannot wait for our day!
Five:
And again... we need a funny addition, right? I don't know why the baby pictures are the ones that have been cracking me up so much... but come on, this is hilarious! It really makes me want to know what happened to cause such passionate reactions, am I right?

I love that I get to share my Pinterests with you all!

Time for me to get off the computer and into my textbooks, I need to know all the bones in the body and their markings by tomorrow morning at 8. Livin' the life I tell you!

Enjoy, and find me on Pinterest!

Love y'all (a little southern charm?),
xo|Austin

Because it's Pinteresting.

Because I am attempting to make a more frequently updated blog, I decided I should dedicate some certain days to different things...

Tuesday in my life is pretty chill and fun for the most part.

Since I'm so addicted to Pinterest, I feel like it's only fair to update you all on the cool finds I am entertaining myself with via Pinterest.

So every Tuesday I will share my top 5 favorite Pins of the week!

One:

I have had the worst Choco-Peanut Butter tooth ever lately, Peanut Butter Fudge Brownie Trifle looks like it would do the job. Of course the best part is making it, tasting it, then passing it off onto Matt, roommates, or the guys on Matt's hall. (The last thing we want is "The Freshman Fifteen" right before the wedding!)

{found at www.howsweeteats.com}

Two:

I have been so busy with school that I have yet to really decorate my part of the dorm like I would like to. I am such a fan of the messy, cluttered look. Plus I love the idea of having all of my interests, inspirations, and loves on one board. This Inspiration Board is next on my list of to-do's!

Three:

Thinking about a wedding often leads me to thinking about our home some day! Like I said, I love the cluttered. And we've been over my deep love for chandeliers. Oh, and turquoise is my favorite color. So basically what I am saying is that this kitchen is my ultimate dream kitchen!

Four:

Matt and I have been thinking a lot about engagement photos lately! Wendy (Matt's mom) is coming out for Thanksgiving and so we're going to go out and get some engagement pictures taken while she's here. Pinterest, like it is for everything, is great for finding Engagement Photo ideas! These are some of our favorites so far!

I'm crazy about the guitar idea! Matt does play, and I don't know how... Meant to be maybe?

I think I like the chalk idea more than Matt... Mainly because he can't handle the sound of chalk on a chalkboard... I vote he can suck it up ;]

We both fully agree that the road kiss needs to happen... Although kissing at Liberty is not permitted. It's okay to be a rebel once in awhile though, right?

Five:

If you haven't noticed, I have created a pattern of things that are relevant to my life... So of course I need to ruin that with something that is not at all relevant, right? This is 100% for entertainment. Matt and I saw this and laughed for a solid 5 minutes. So hard that we were both crying. It is awesome. Enjoy!

Hope you enjoyed our first official Pinteresting Tuesday! If you don't already have a Pinterest account, change that. It's great! If you do have one, follow my Pinboards ! If you have one let me know, I'd love to follow yours!

Sending my love,
xo|Austin Jean.
