Weekend Wedding Update.

I figure I need to keep you all updated on the wedding of the summer... right?

{Wedding of the summer= our wedding if you didn't catch that... it was a joke... ha ha?}

So far we've got...

The Groom.

The Bride.

The Venue.

The Date.

The Colors.

.................................................

But you knew all that.

Newer news:

Matt and I decided together who we want for our wedding party. I would tell you right now who we decided on, but I send fun little gifts to ask, so I don't wan't to ruin any surprises! But as soon as the girls get them, I will show you what I made! Maybe I can even convince them to send pictures of themselves with the present... Hmmm... (Oh no, my mind is already making a new blog post.)

I would tell you the men... But my fiancé likes to wait until last minute for just about everything (except opening his Transformers "action figure") and has yet to ask the last couple guys.

Hopefully by next week we can share with you!

More newer news:

Wendy (Matt's mom) is coming out here to good ol' Lynchburg (that's the real name of this town) for ten days during Thanksgiving! While she's here, her and I are going to go try on wedding dresses! I cannot wait!

The plan I think is to try on here, decide which one I love, then go back home to buy it. That way my mom can see it on before I buy it and I won't have to ship it back to Washington.

Also while she is here, we are going to go out and take some engagement photos! I showed you some of the ideas we like. As of now I think the plan is that Wendy is going to take them. But we have been looking into nearby photographers. We need cheap and good quality; which isn't always easy to find. But Wendy really is a great photographer, so I think our pictures will turn out beautifully.

I think that is as far as we have gotten.

We know who we want for certain parts, but we need to ask them before I tell you who they are.

Alright loves, there is your update.

Are you even more excited for this wedding now? Maybe not. But I am!

Peanut Butter Goodness.

Sometimes Chocolate Chip just isn't good enough.

I found the easiest, most delicious Peanut Butter cookies ever on Pinterest!

I found this recipe from Jamhands blog.

The recipe only calls for three ingredients...

Peanut Butter
Sugar
Egg

Let me tell you how to do it...

1 Cup of Peanut Butter (I used light PB--the cookies are definitely rich enough without using full fat PB)
1 Cup of Sugar
1 Egg

That's it.

Step-by-step:

  1. Combine all the ingredients together and mix well until it is all thoroughly combined.
  2. Roll balls of dough into balls--about 12 (just a hair smaller than golf balls).
  3. Place them on the cookie pan (No need to grease it, the peanut butter works well for that)
  4. Flatten each ball.
  5. To get the classic Peanut Butter Cookie look with th criss/cross pattern on top of the cookies, take a fork, wet it a bit, dip it in sugar and press into the dough in two opposite angles on each cookie.
  6. Bake the cookies for 8-10 minutes at 350 degrees.
  7. Enjoy!
I'm telling you guys, these are the easiest cookies I have ever made, and I don't even really love normal peanut butter cookies, but these are to die for!

Let me know if you try to make them and what you think!

Hope your weekend is starting off great!

I Have a Crush.

On turquoise handbags.

I went through my recent pins on Pinterest yesterday, and realized that I have 3 pins of different turquoise/aqua handbags. And I am in love with every one of them.

I think it has to do with having absolutely no spare money that makes me want to shop all the more!

{Another side note: I am kind of in love with stripes as of now too... It happened fast, but I fell hard}

Basically, I tell you this because I know it isn't going to happen, and I need to at least get it off my chest before I move on in my life.
..........................................................

Okay fine, I'm over it. Besides, if my biggest problem right now is that I can't afford a purse that I want, I'd say my life is pretty blessed.

And I have no room to complain, because as of 12:00pm today I am on Fall Break until Monday! It is going to be so nice to have a few extra days off to relax and hopefully get off campus!

Also, the parents of 19 Kids and Counting spoke at Convocation today, and it was pretty fun!

Overall, today is a good day in my book.

So tell me, What is your fashion obsession this fall?

Love, love love,

Because it's Pinteresting.

Because I am attempting to make a more frequently updated blog, I decided I should dedicate some certain days to different things...

Tuesday in my life is pretty chill and fun for the most part.

Since I'm so addicted to Pinterest, I feel like it's only fair to update you all on the cool finds I am entertaining myself with via Pinterest.

So every Tuesday I will share my top 5 favorite Pins of the week!

One:

I have had the worst Choco-Peanut Butter tooth ever lately, Peanut Butter Fudge Brownie Trifle looks like it would do the job. Of course the best part is making it, tasting it, then passing it off onto Matt, roommates, or the guys on Matt's hall. (The last thing we want is "The Freshman Fifteen" right before the wedding!)

{found at www.howsweeteats.com}

Two:

I have been so busy with school that I have yet to really decorate my part of the dorm like I would like to. I am such a fan of the messy, cluttered look. Plus I love the idea of having all of my interests, inspirations, and loves on one board. This Inspiration Board is next on my list of to-do's!

Three:

Thinking about a wedding often leads me to thinking about our home some day! Like I said, I love the cluttered. And we've been over my deep love for chandeliers. Oh, and turquoise is my favorite color. So basically what I am saying is that this kitchen is my ultimate dream kitchen!

Four:

Matt and I have been thinking a lot about engagement photos lately! Wendy (Matt's mom) is coming out for Thanksgiving and so we're going to go out and get some engagement pictures taken while she's here. Pinterest, like it is for everything, is great for finding Engagement Photo ideas! These are some of our favorites so far!

I'm crazy about the guitar idea! Matt does play, and I don't know how... Meant to be maybe?

I think I like the chalk idea more than Matt... Mainly because he can't handle the sound of chalk on a chalkboard... I vote he can suck it up ;]

We both fully agree that the road kiss needs to happen... Although kissing at Liberty is not permitted. It's okay to be a rebel once in awhile though, right?

Five:

If you haven't noticed, I have created a pattern of things that are relevant to my life... So of course I need to ruin that with something that is not at all relevant, right? This is 100% for entertainment. Matt and I saw this and laughed for a solid 5 minutes. So hard that we were both crying. It is awesome. Enjoy!

Hope you enjoyed our first official Pinteresting Tuesday! If you don't already have a Pinterest account, change that. It's great! If you do have one, follow my Pinboards ! If you have one let me know, I'd love to follow yours!

Sending my love,

What Happened?

This week was full of exciting events! Some bad ones.. and some good ones.

Friday we went to the Anberlin concert! That was awesome! It's so crazy how we get to go to real concerts for free because of Liberty! It's great.

On Saturday my good friend and mentor had her second baby! Isaiah William is his name and he is absolutely beautiful! I can't at all wait to meet him during Christmas time! I just hope he doesn't grow too much by then!

Saturday we also went to see The Lion King in 3D. It blew my mind. I loved every second of it. I swear, if you think you know someone who has seen The Lion King more times than me or who loves it more than me, I'd be surprised. I LOVE The Lion King. I loved it as a kid and I think I might even love it more now than I did then. It was so fun to go back to my childhood and see it in a movie theater!

This week, my lap top also went kaput! It was sad. And stressful for a little bit because that meant I needed a new one. It quickly turned into a blessing though, because I have been wanting a new MacBook Pro for months now, and so I finally got to get one! I love love love it. So much. Expect more updates simply because all I want to do is play with my new computer! (Who I happened to name Michelangelo)

I do have a question for you guys though. What should I get as decal stickers for it? These two are my top two that I like that I've found. But I'm still not set. Which do you like most? Zebra or Leopard?

Also during this crazy week, my roommates and I killed a gigantic spider that set up camp outside our dorm! It was disgusting.

This has been a good week. It's been crazy. College in full gear!

We get Fall Break this week, so no school Thursday or Friday!

My goal starting now is to update several times a week! We'll see how that goes.

When I Feel Weak.

I don't know about you guys, but I sometimes have days when I feel too weak to do anything on my own. I feel like school stress is too much for me to handle. Or maybe it's with money, or family.

I am not a girl who likes to admit that I am weak. The last thing I want to be is that girl who can't do anything on my own. I don't want to ask for help--or admit that I am struggling with something.

I have always been the girl who can do it all on my own--and do it well.

I've never been the girl to ask for help when I know I can do it on my own.

I'm definitely not the girl who goes to others with my problems, weaknesses, or defeats.

I tend to keep those parts of my life to myself rather than putting them on blast for the rest of the world to see.

But the truth is, sometimes those moments of weakness, exhaustion, or failure happen.

I know I'm not the only one they happen to...

But I do my best to act like I am the only one they don't happen to.

Tonight I found this verse...

"...but he said to me 'My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.' So I will boast all the more gladly in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Therefore I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities for the sake of Christ; for whenever I am weak; I am strong." 2Corinthians 12:9-10
What a relief.

I am allowed to be okay with being weak.

Actually when I am weak, I am the strongest.

When we are weak God gets to really work in us. And how much stronger is Christ than we are?

Through this I am vowing to be confident in my weakness.

What about you?

Can you trust that God will show his power in your weaknesses?

Goodnight loves,

xo/Austin
